One of the most common concerns that are raised when people discuss organic beef is the price. People seem to assume that just because something is organic, it is immediately unaffordable and not worth the money. This is a misconception. At Pasture to Plate, we strive to offer our loyal customers excellent value for money when it comes to organic beef.
Organic beef is “worth it” in many different ways. For one thing, it is a product that is truly amazing quality. Our cows are grass fed and do not consume any medications or feed that has been grown with pesticides. That means that the organic beef you get is just natural beef, and not anything that is raised with hormones or medication. We do not put preservatives or additives in our finished product, which increases its amazing quality, and the meat you buy is exactly what is stated, and not filler meat, or other ingredients. Non organic beef can have many questionable ingredients and chemicals in it.
We are also a local, British Columbia-based company, so any money that is spent on organic beef at Pasture to Plate will go back into the local economy. The same cannot necessarily be said for non organic beef that is mass produced. We have a store on Commercial Drive that offers employment locally and feels like part of a real community, thanks to our loyal customers and other independent retailers in the area. And if you are looking for savings, if you buy directly from our farm store, you will receive a transportation discount. We only charge our customers for what they are receiving, so we offer this generous discount to those willing to travel to us.
Organic beef isn’t too expensive, but it certainly tastes it. The flavour of organic beef is unbelievably superior, compared to its non organic counterparts. Impress those at home, or your guests, by cooking a meal with organic beef and they really will think you are treating them, even though you know you have gotten real value for money. Worth it? We think so!
