As the General Manager of Pasture to Plate, I am forever in limbo between two worlds, always working to bring closer together the reality of the producer and that of the consumer. I split my time between the ranch where I grew up (which is a real escape and a treat for me), managing the operations at Chilcotin Harvest, and here in the city furthering the efforts of P2P to change lives by bringing truly great foods directly to consumers whether that’s in person at our shop or via home delivery across the province. The best part is I get to work with my family on both ends; my parents who operate the ranch and my son who is our head butcher at our Vancouver store.
My day to day is a wonderful balance between responsibility and passion. My responsibility is to make the business viable so that we can continue bringing you great products and maintain the land in our care. My passion is to bring great, nourishing food to more people.
I understand that there are a lot of demands on dollars earned and that there isn’t always a big budget for food. As much as I can explain the true cost of food and the necessity for good food for health, for longevity and the sustainability of the world we live in, I do know that what is the final deciding factor for many is the wallet. We offer daily specials that are of unrivalled value and we offer bulk specials as well that make buying high quality meat as affordable as it can be.
